Sanjay with the family-room reef at an early stage. The wooden wall panels are kept firmly in place for safety, but can be moved for
maintenance. The system is relatively easy to maintain, thanks to heavy-duty filtration equipment and automated water changes.
(5-cm) drains. Water travels through a long serpentine
canal, affording more than enough time for any micro-bubbles to disperse at the surface before the water is returned to the display.
Sanjay created a schematic on paper to figure out
what plumbing materials he would need to connect the
sump to the display tank, as well as to connect the closed
loop to the Sea Swirl water-motion devices. He created
another schematic for the water change system, which
was designed to allow automated and effortless water
changes.
